Founded on October 15, 2003, La Grande Famille de Procida & Ischia is a French non-profit, non-religious and non-political association, governed by the law of July 1, 1901.
It brings together the descendants of migrants from this region of southern Italy. From the second half of the 19th century, among the Italian migrants, many were natives of these islands in the province of Naples. Fishermen, tradesman or farmers, they first populated North Africa and the South of France, and later the United Stated, South America and Australia. Today, their heirs can be found all over the world!
By joining the association, you will be able to easily search and find your roots, understand your family history, reconstruct your family tree or simply discover the cultural and natural richness of the islands. In this way, you will participate in the preservation of the heritage and origins of our Grande Famille de Procida & Ischia.
Delegated by the Procida City Council for the promotion of tourism in France, and with its involvement since 2003 in local projects, the association voted at the General Assembly of May 5, 2013 a new cultural dimension, based on the principles of enhancement and preservation of historical, cultural and natural heritage. Here are some of our most notable initiatives:
